Traffic problems have been the bottleneck of the development of society and economy. The development of traffic flow theory provides new solutions for traffic problems. Cellular automaton (CA) model is a kind of discrete model. It has characteristic of simple regulations, easy realization and convenient parallel computing and so on. These kinds of model can mimic the traffic system’s macroscopic character similarly to the real traffic by modifying the rules neatly while maintaining some nonlinear behavior and physical characteristic of complex system. For these reasons above, the analysis of traffic flow based on CA has attracted vast attention in recent years.This paper laid special stress on CA traffic models and the main work consists of three aspects:firstly, based on the development of dot net and the classic CA models, the software suited for classic CA was realized, which provides a test and verification environment for follow-up researches. Secondly, according to car-following character of different kinds of drivers, based on the study of one dimensional CA, this paper proposes a new CA model by taking the driver’s character into account. Finally, this paper build pedestrian and vehicle CA model according to the cross-street pedestrian without signal lamp phenomenon existing in real traffic. The concrete work is as follows:With periodic boundary conditions, based on the visual studio development environment and the theory of NS, FI, VDR model, the software for classic CA models were realized. The fundamental diagram and time-space figure can be obtained, and they are very similar to the analytic results of the classic models. The software will provide some reference for the simulation of extensive road networks.With open boundary conditions, the CA traffic flow model based on adventure ratio and braking distance difference was built. The fundamental diagrams of traffic flow with adventure ratio effect under different parameters were present by numerical simulation, then the characters of transition between free flow phase and jamming phase was analyzed. It turned out that with the same get-in probability and acceleration-deceleration probability, adventure ratio plays an important effect on the traffic density, average speed and phase transition point. The result will provide valuable reference for real traffic flow fitting study by selecting right adventure ratio.In order to analyze the effect of cross-street pedestrian to traffic flow without signal lamp, considering cross-street pedestrian action and vehicle action synthetically, the pedestrian CA model and vehicle CA model were built. Especially, the concept of pedestrian waiting area was put forward in these models, and the pedestrian waiting area has an effect while building vehicle CA action rules. Based on these models above, the fundamental diagrams of traffic flow with different pedestrian arriving ratio and pedestrian speed ratio were presented by numerical simulation, and the result will provide some directive conclusions for the management and control of real traffic.
