With the rapid development of our national economy, more and more high-rise buildings are being built all over the country. In recent years, land resource become precious with increasing house prices. Whether civil or commercial buildings, their storeys begin to increase and become high-rise constructions. In order to meet the highly development of our country, researchers put forward the new architectural structure which was called the short-limb shear wall in1995.The short-limb shear wall structure is based on the shear wall structure and combined with the characteristics of special-shaped columns and framework which is widely used in high-rise buildings, now many cities in Southern China have begun to use the short shear wall structure. This kind of new structure system was defined in 《Technical specification for concrete structures of tall building》.However, until now there is no standard to guide how to design structure system of the short shear wall. So it is necessary to research various kinds of mechanical properties about the short shear wall structure which can help us let this kind of new structure be widely used in engineering practice. Unlike other shear wall sections, short shear wall sections have various forms such as "one","T","Z","ten", etc. Since researchers have already finished lots of testing and researches for "one","T","Z" forms of short-limb shear walls. So this article focused on the elastic-plasticity of ten cross-section reinforced-concrete short-limb shear wall specimens and analyzed about their nonlinear static in order to provide standard for structure design in the future. Therefore, this subject has academic significance and practical construction value, and the research has many spaces to develop in the future as well.To write nonlinear analysis program according to steel and concrete constitutive relationship, fiber wall calculation model and stiffness of finite element method. The cross-section reinforced-concrete short-limb shear wall specimens under monotonic load are got load and displacement curve by experiment. This program is feasible after the result of experiment compared with program results. The program can analyze mechanical properties which is load capacity, stiffness and deformation capacity under different axial compression ratio or concrete strength grade or longitudinal reinforcement ratio or depth-thickness ratio. The conclusion is axial compressive ratio can choose0.3, concrete strength grade choose C30, depth-thickness ratio choose6.6, longitudinal reinforcement ratio choose3%.
