With the rapid development of economic and the improvement of people’s livingstandards, the number of cars continues to increase. But at the same time, the issues oftraffic congestion and road safety are following. Route Guidance System can solvethese problems in some extent. However, the existing car navigation system is based onthe static navigation techniques, which does not consider the real-time traffic condition,so that it could not solve the traffic congestion problem very well.This thesis designed an intelligent navigation system based on Android operatingsystem. The intelligent navigation system can display the real-time traffic informationon electronic map and could navigate dynamically according to the real-time trafficinformation. The system uses S3C6410to build the hardware platform and choosesAndroid2.2as operating system. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:1. Designing the overall scheme of the intelligent navigation system according tothe application demands.2. Building the hardware and software platform on the development boardUTS3C6410.3. Receiving GPS data and extracting information, such as the latitude, longitude,time, speed and so on.4. Establishing connection between the navigation system with traffic monitoringcenter and transporting data.5. Developing applications on the base of electronic map which can display thereal-time traffic information and navigates dynamically according to the real-time trafficinformation.The thesis applies the Android operating system to the traffic area. This navigationsystem could collect real-time traffic information and display it on Google Map.Besides, the system could navigate dynamically according to the real-time trafficinformation, which has a certain amount of study and practical value.
