This paper introduces the design of Automotive Electronic-control System Remote Diagnostic and Analyze Tool. It can read and analyze the information from electronic-control system, and save the data or send to the remote sever. The research mainly focuses on the STM32-based hardware platform design, the embedded operation system transplanting, and the driver and application software development.Modular design approach is used in the hardware design. In order to achieve the system functionality and reduce costs, STM32microcontroller is selected as the main control unit, based on the STM32hardware platform, electronic-control system data read module and GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) remote data transmission module are designed. Also LCD display module and SD card data storage module are designed. Features a degree of independence between the various modules, each module is designed and debugged separately to ensure the function, and then online-debug is acted. Embedded Real Time Operating System μC/OS-Ⅱ is lead into software design, to modify the configuration file, and complete the transplant on the hardware platform to achieve the requirements of the system multi-task management. Driver for each hardware module is written as the interface between the system hardware and software design. Measurement application software, graphical user interfaces and file system are also designed to implement diagnostic, data storage and transmission. Both IDE debug tool and serial ports are used in debugging to ensure software correctness. At last, a real car test is performed to view whether the required design features are met.After testing, the designed diagnostic tool meets all the required features and the graphical user interface facilitate the operation of the user. Sorts of communication protocol can be distinguished. The method that tests the pressure and vacuum data can effectively improve the degree of standardization of vehicle maintenance. As the combination of Automotive Electronic and Embedded System, the Remote Diagnostic and Analyze Tool is worth to be researched and applied.
