Constantly updated with the concept of modern warfare, the military commandand degree of automation, continuous improvement, constantly updating andupgrading of automated military command system, geographic information systems asone of the foundations of the military chain of command, have made new demands.The breadth of real-time information updates breakthrough of great significance toimprove the efficiency and combat effectiveness of military command. Existinggeographic information system, can not meet the needs of the military command.In this case, the problems of the existing Geographic Information System,combined with the portability of geographic information systems in the militarycommand activities, efficiency and scalability requirements, design and developmentof the independent deployment of a meet the secondary development of geographicinformation system platforms and applications, but also the characteristics of thedifferent branches of the military.This article first introduced the basic concepts involved in the design ofgeographic information systems, map projections and OpenGL. Respectively,following two chapters introduce the two basic modules of a Geographic InformationSystem, OpenGL function of packaging and organization of the GIS data. The basis ofthese two modules, designed and developed part of the kernel of the GeographicInformation System. Finally, the most common equipment, introduced in theWindows environment, independent deployment of geographic information systemplatform of the MFC-based user interface design.
