Stepper motor is a kind of common component which can be used to track angle.The structure of an open-loop system consisting of a stepper motor is simple, the costis very low and is reliable. They have been used widely in many civil manufacturefields. However, the problems the stepper motors having such as low resolving,vibrating at low frequency, losing synchronization at high frequency tend to limit theirapplications in some projects which need rigorous precision, good stabilizationperformance and have special conditions.Based on the national momentous space project, this thesis forms an integratedsystem according to the requirement of the space electronic product and the characterof the cheap sub aerial products, to research on the existent problems when steppermotor running. This paper proposed a subdivision control method of two phase hybridmotor based on FPGA which uses sine/cosine waves as the referent phase-currentvalue. This kind of driving technology can control the phase current waves of steppermotor availably,and achieves the even subdivision of the original step-angle, thusimproving the rotational angle resolving.By setting up the stepper motor theoretic math model, this paper adoptsCo-simulation of Modelsim and Simulink to verify the controlling method. On thehardware circuits design, considering the factors of the cost, speed and the needed LEresources, this paper chooses Cyclone-EP1C3T144C8as the core chip of the FPGAcircuit. Besides that, the design uses chopper current control to maintain the phasecurrent constant. By analyzing the simulation results of theory and experiment, thispaper proves the validity of the control method. More over, the Co-simulation ofModelsim and Simulink provides a better pre-simulation for many projects to makevalidation before doing actual board-level design. Once the model can be builtcorrectly, the project design period can be curtailed and the cost can be reduced.
