The shield machine is a kind of large engineering machinery used in the construction of the tunnel of which the segment erector is an important constituent part and it can efficiently prevent the settlement and water seepage of the tunnel by putting the prefabricated segment outside the tunnel to the installation place safely, quickly and precisely in accordance with the order of the layout system. Based on the investigation of a large number of segment erectors both domestically and internationally, this paper has taken German Herrenknecht segment erector as its subject to make a series of studies on its mechanical, hydraulic and electric control aspects.The working principle of the earth pressure balance shield machine and the development of the segment erector at home and abroad are introduced respectively; next, it analyzes the working principle of the erector and establishes the3D model of the erector by the application of Solidworks and PRO/E and consequently, the erector walking beam is optimized and an innovative design of a new type of arms crossed assembly segment erector is made; and in the following part, it also analyzes the principle of the erector hydraulic system and masters the affects of the flow, environment and other factors on the dynamic characteristics of hydraulic system; and finally, the electric control system of the erector is investigated, some parts of the manually assembled procedure of the segment erector is written with PLC and the three DOF automatic control of the erector is realized through the combination of machine vision technology, Matlab and VB technology.It verifies the correctness of the results of the study promotes the localization pace of the segment erector and improves the efficiency and stability of the segment erector through the research and application on shield machine segment erector technology.
