With the advantages of light weight, small size, and high efficiency, permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) has been widely used in various fields, such as in industrial and agricultural production, daily life, aerospace and defense. Therefore, it is important to study the PMSM control system. The main purpose of the research is completed the study of vector control of PMSM in general inverter.At first, the development status of PMSM and its control strategy is introduced in this dissertation. A mathematical model of the PMSM is established in the two-phase rotating coordinate system. Then, the principle of vector control and engineering design methods of ASR and ACR are discussed in detail. The PMSM vector control system is built in Matlab7.2/Simulink environment.Secondly, due to the parameters of the motor which driven by general inverter are unknown, the parameters identification method of PMSM have also been studied. The main identification parameters are armature resistance, d-axis and q-axis inductance and back EMF coefficient. The principles of identification and software implementation skills have been elaborated. The results of identification show that the identification method is correct.Finally, the software design of vector control of PMSM has been completed on the hardware platform that Renesas’s SH7146is as the core. The main contents include motor starting method, calculation method of speed and position, design of ASR and ACR, SVPWM modulation algorithm and motor braking method. By the help of dynamometer test system, the startup characteristics of the vector control system with load, loading and unloading characteristics and torque characteristics have been tested. The test results verified that the vector control system which is designed in this dissertation is feasible.
