Water boiler is a household appliance which is designed to solve the demand of drinking water for a crowd.In recent years,a wide variety of water boiler emerged in the market,but with the development of science and technology,most of them can’t meet the requirement of the current society for intelligent home appliances.Water boiler industry in China has maintained a relatively high speed of development,but compared with Europe and the United States,it still has a large gap. So this paper proposes a embedded design scheme based on ARM+μC/OS-Ⅱ structure,which achieces the variable power heating control function and makes the device intelligent and networked. The main tasks are as follows:1)In this paper,the development of water boiler,the constitution of the water boiler system,and the principle of the variable power water boiler are introduced firstly.According to the requirement of its functionality and performance,the paper puts forward the general desigen of ARM+μC/OS-Ⅱ, and illustrates the characteristics and advantages of ARM and μC/OS-Ⅱ.Then the hardware circuit design of water boiler is discussed in detail.2) The intelligent and variable power water boiler is divided into two parts,one is the core board based on ARM controller minimue system and peripheral equipment interface,another is the strong electric board that is composed of the power module.3) Succeed in porting system μC/OS-Ⅱ and lightweight TCP/IP protocol.The program of network communication,the driver of LCD,and variable power heating for the drinking low of one unit are designed and coded.4) Finally,the controller of water boiler is debugged and tested.The intelligent and variable power water boiler based on ARM+μC/OS-Ⅱ has been tested for long time,and the result shows that the controller not only realizes the networked and intelligent function,but also achieves satisfactory performance.
