| This dissertation consists of two parts. The first part reported the study on the chemical constituents of Echinops grijisii Hance and the second part reported the study on the chemical constituents of Liriodendron chinense (Hemsl.) Sarg.Echinops grijisii Hance (Compositae) is widespread in southeastern China. The roots of this plant has been recorded in Chinese Pharmacopoeia (1995 Edition) as Radix Echinopsis. Radix Echinopsis is a traditional Chinese medicine used as clear heat, expel miasma and stimulate milk secretion.By means of solvent partition, repeated normal and reversed phase column chromatography on silica gel and Pre-HPLC,9 compounds were isolated from the roots of Echinops grijisii Hance. Based on physico-chemical characters and spectroscopic analysis (NMR, UV, IR and MS), their structures were identified as 5-(3,4-dihydroxybut-l-ynyl)-2,2’-bithiophene (1),2-(penta-1,3-diynyl)-5-(3,4-dihydroxybut-1-ynyl)thiophene (2),2-(5,6-dihyd-roxyhexa-1,3-diynyl)-5-(prop-1-ynyl)thiophene (3), echinothiophenegenol (4), luteolin (5), syringin (6), ajugasterone C (7),chlorogenic acid (8), cynarin (9). Among them, compound 4 was a new compound, compounds 7,8,9 were obtained from this genus for the first time.Liriodendron chinense (Hemsl.) Sarg. is a plant widely distributed in the south of the Yangtze River basin. It has been used as a drug to dispel wind, eliminate dampness and relieve cough.By means of solvent partition, repeated normal and reversed phase column chromatography on silica gel and Pre-HPLC,22 compounds were isolated from the aerial part of Liriodendron chinense (Hemsl.) Sarg. Based on physico-chemical characters and spectroscopic analysis (NMR, UV, IR and MS), their structures were identified as a-liriodenolide (10),β-liriodenolide (11),11,13-dehydrolanuginolide (12),lipiferolide (13), epitulipinolide diepoxide (14), epitulipinolide (15), sinapaldehyde (16), coniferyl alcohol (17), syringaldehyde (18),6,7-dimethoxycoumarin (19),7-hydroxy-6-methoxycoumarin (20), virolongin F (21), virolongin E (22), virolongin A (23), virolongin B (24), yangabin (25), syringaresinol (26), pinoresinol (27), de-4’-O-methylyangabin (28), lysicamine (29), liridine (30), N-(2-hydroxy-2-phenylethyl)benzamide (31). Among them, compounds 21,22,23,28, 31 were obtained from this genus for the first time. |
