The subject on the control study of Hong Kong community vocabulary and mandarinvocabulary mainly takes Hong Kong community vocabulary as the research object and takesthe Hong Kong Community Word Dictionary as corpus basis to compare words differences ofHong Kong community and mandarin vocabulary and researches words lending phenomenonbetween the Hong Kong community vocabulary and mandarin vocabulary through comparingvocabulary collected in the Hong Kong Community Word Dictionary and Modern ChineseDictionary (fifth edition) and gathering the actual data in People’s Daily and the Ta KungPao.ChapterⅡcomparatively studies Hong Kong community vocabulary and mandarinvocabulary in the synchronic plane. It analyzes and sums up the two modes of homonymyand paraphrase in differences between Hong Kong community vocabulary and mandarinvocabulary. It analyzes homonymy from the lexical meaning, colorific meaning andgrammatical meaning, of which the differences, relation and some development and evolutionof lexical meaning is the main performance of the homonymy phenomenon. The differencesof colorific meaning and grammatical meaning also cannot be ignored. The paraphrasephenomenon is mainly reflected in the order and choosing of morphemes.This subject analyzes the two different modes between mandarin vocabulary and theHong Kong community vocabulary based on social linguistics theory and takes language as aspecial social phenomenon to study. The mutual contact between languages is not only theinevitable result of the development of language, but also the development and changes ofsociety and history, so chapterⅢanalyzes the causes of the formation of differencesbetween Hong Kong community vocabulary and mandarin vocabulary from internal languageand external society. The influence of internal factors in language mainly respects in threeaspects, namely, the differences made by word formation, language contact and languageinheritance. The influence of social factors is reflected in three aspects, that is, the culturedifferences, regional variation and the cognition differences of language users.ChapterⅣanalyzes this phenomenon from the absorption of the whole word and senses from Hong Kong community vocabulary to mandarin vocabulary with the control andstatistical method. The whole words absorbed from Hong Kong community vocabulary tomandarin vocabulary are marked with <D> in the dictionary and is took as dialect words.The senses absorption from Hong Kong community vocabulary to mandarin vocabularymainly displays in the reference of lexical and colorific meaning. This chapter analyzes thecauses of word diversion from word-formation methods, communication needs and theconformity psychology of audience. At the same time, we should take scientific, open attitudeto treat the phenomenon referring scholars’ viewpoint, that is, not only affirm the positiveimpact that it solved some contradiction but also we can’t ignore the generation ofhomographs.
