With the development of teaching Chinese as the foreign language, the acquisition researchof Chinese as the second language is also got more and more concerns. Thailand is one of theimportant countries of promoting Chinese. In recent years, the number of schools setting upChinese language courses in Thailand is increasing; the number of people learning Chinese isincreasing rapidly. Therefore, we should do more research on the Chinese language acquisitionfor Thai students.The transition compound sentences are a very important element of Chinese grammar study,but also is the emphasis and difficulty of teaching Chinese as the foreign language. After thestatistics of research’s result on transition compound sentences, we found that there is very littleresearch about Thai students. So we collect the corpus of HSK Composition about Thai studentsand the Composition exam of Chinese major Grade four in the Thai Ramkhamhaeng University,and we developed a questionnaire on the target of transition compound sentences research. Wealso do the statistical analysis about the collected corpus carefully, analyze the types of errorsdeeply about the process of acquisition, and summarize the causes of errors. On the basic of theanalysis, we would like to give some advices about teaching transition compound sentences fromteachers, teaching materials and so on. We hope the research can provide some methods forteachers and researchers, and make the students can understand and use the transition compoundsentences easily.The paper includes six parts. The first chapter summarizes the background and thesignificance of this topic, and the contents steps of the research. The second chapter is about thetheories and researches referring to this topic, including Second Language Acquisition theory,the research of Chinese transition compound sentences, and the achievements about teaching theForeigners Chinese transition compound sentences.The third chapter do the statistics andanalysis about the collected corpus, surmised the characteristic of Thai students exporting thetransition compound sentences. The forth chapter tries to explain the reasons of errors usingthe error analysis theories.In this chapter, we mainly take some examples which having higherror rate, and explain the reasons. The fifth chapter we try to give some advices and methods onteaching and teaching materials, according to our own teaching experience and the result of thisinvestigation. The last chapter does the summary about this paper, getting the Conclusion of theresearch, pointing out the lack and future endeavors.
