With the rapid growth of the national economy at home and abroad and the vast market demand, organic food industry in China has presented the flourishing situation. The improvement of national living standard and the acceleration of pace of life, make consumers begin to pay more and more attention to the organic, health, and hygiene of food. Thus, the development of organic food is becoming an inevitable trend. With the development of organic food industry, the competition is becoming more and more aggravated. The organic food packaging of many enterprises can’t adapt to the corresponding consumption groups’culture grade, aesthetic requirements and market competition. Visual element is an important part in the package design, so the study of visual elements in organic food packaging design is urgent and necessary.This thesis begins with the analysis of visual elements in organic food packaging design and put forward the problems. Then according to the current organic food packaging situation, the visual elements in organic food packaging were described in detail, as well as a particular statement on the contrast of graphics, character and color. Then the problems of visual elements were raised up. Taking "organic corn grains" as a case study, the comparison and analysis of different organic grain appearance about graphics, characters, and color on the market were working out. Meanwhile the solutions were found based on the existing problems. The proper visual elements should be added during the packaging design in order to promote sales, reflect organic food connotation and attribute, advance brand culture of enterprise, make regional characteristic clearly. Finally, the significance of visual elements in organic food packaging design was summed up.
