With the victory of the October Revolution in1917in Russia,the first socialist stateestablished.A Communist Party came to have power in such a great country in74years.Why the nation extinction instantly without external intrusion and internalviolence?From the early days of the people’s strong pursuit of the socialistsystem,there are always be a high degree of trust in the Communist Party,however,inthe Gorbachev era,why people began to suspect the whole social system,includingLenin,Leninism and Marxism?Such a big party,why in the period of Gorbachev,thepolitical prestige of the Soviet Communist Party were greatly diminished andthe‘crisis of faith’were widely spread and the socialist ideals and beliefs were greatlylost?There are a large number of articles about the collapse of the Soviet Union andthe defeat of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.Some of the articles discussedthe problems from the aspects of economic,political,cultural and social.Some of thearticles analyzed and discussed the problems from the point of view of the socialprofile or from the whole of the Soviet Union. However, the articles about thecollapse of the Soviet Union and the defeat of the Communist Party from theperspective of political trust are still rare.This article attempts to examine social andpolitical trust in period of Gorbachev,depending on Polish scholar Peter Sztompka’stheory.There is three index systems for the diagnosis of a social that lack of politicaltrus:the function of alternatives,behavior indicators and verbal indicators,demonstrated political trust was increasingly landslide and trend of lack of asignificant impact on ultimate downfall of the Soviet Communist Party in the periodGorbachev of the Soviet Union.This paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter1:Introduction,main contents include the origin and significance of thetopics at home and abroad related research, research methods,ideas,and innovation.Chapter Ⅱ:political trust theory,the main contents include the concept of political trust in the definition and diagnosis of the three indicators of the lack of social andpolitical trust.Chapter Ⅲ:functions alternative products of political functional, the transfer ofpolitical trust in the period of Gorbachev.The main content contains these:Firstly,discuss the change of people’s attitude towards political system,government,andgovernment officials in the period of Gorbachev.Next,from perspective of thecorruption’s situation to discuss it.Lastly, Analysis the ‘openness’,‘diversification’ideas in the period of Gorbachev reform,how to lead to confusion and the overalldecline of communist ideology of the ideological field.Chapter Ⅲ:behavioral indicators,contain from the ‘leave’ to ‘protest’.This partfrom three aspects to analyze the behavioral indicators measure the Soviet people’spolitical trust,through the‘express’to displayed trust.This express includes both a largenumber of mass protests and the performance of secularism.To give up the right tovote and reluctance to support national economic reform matters.Withdraw from theUnion and the waves of migration.By describing the various republics out of theUnion and the emigration of Soviet people,in order to reveal the lack of the politicaltrust.Chapter Ⅴ:words indicators,evaluation and the understanding of the reform and theSoviet Communist Party.Demonstrate about the evaluation of system,thediversification of economic situation and the attitude of public institutions and cadres.The last part of the article is conclusion.This part summarizes the poor state of theperiod of Gorbachev and points out the authority and forces is the country,thegovernment and the Communist Party have the political trust of the people.
