This paper first analyzes the causal factors and historical background of Chineseand Japanese homographs, and defined the concept of homographs. Then, comparesand classifies homographs in brand new angles of view which lay on semantics,grammar and pragmatics. On this matter, a lot of model sentences can be found tostrengthen the persuasion. Besides that, teaching methods which directed againstclassifications are submitted. Finally, analyses the principle of homograph teaching andpoints for attention as a whole, so we can supply materials to help Japanese teachingand learning. Comprehension of homographs could help people of China and Japanavoiding misunderstanding in communications and get better interpretation. Throughclassification and discussion in details, homographs would play an active role inChinese-Japanese teaching and studying.
