Belong to the two different language systems, but belong to the same Sinosphere. Both of Chinese and Japanese use Chinese characters as their recording symbol. In the development of language, Chinese and Japanese learn from each other which resulted in the large mount of homographs.Such a phenomenon makes the particularities for Japanese students of learning Chinese. On one hand, Japanese students could use the similarities of homographs between Chinese and Japanese to improve the effect in Chinese words learning and exert the positive influence of their mother tongue. On the other hand, there is no absolute equivalence of homographs between Chinese and Japanese since the language systems are totally different. That is the reason why homographs in Chinese and Japanese are not equivalent in total. Therefore, it is not easy for Japanese students to get rid of the influence from this kind of words with "same looking different meaning". Then to avoid the negative impact on the process of Chinese words teaching to Japanese students and to develop the positive influence of Japanese have become the key and difficult aspect. This thesis finds the homographs of Chinese and Japanese by comparing around 1500 Chinese words from Developing Chinese (comprehensive of elementary level) and analyses them from the aspects of looking, meaning and using. By questionaries, to investigate the Japanese students' understanding and using of homographs of Chinese and Japanese, to learn the related influence of learning Chinese to Japanese students from the homographs, and to put forward some methods and strategies of homographs teaching based on the homographs in Developing Chinese (comprehensive of elementary level). This thesis has six chapters.
