Causative sentence is one kind of the important sentence patterns in Chinese andKorean. It is also a significant part in Chinese and Korean as a second languageacquisition. There are a great similarities and differences of causative sentence inChinese and Korean, therefore, the analysis of causative sentence is always a hot topicin these two languages. However, there are not many research achievements on thislanguage phenomenon both in Chinese and English so far, especially from syntactic,pragmatic and semantic perspectives. In this dissertation, we will adopt thethree-dimensional grammar theory, that is, from syntactic, pragmatic and semanticperspectives, to analyze causative sentence in Chinese and Korean. On the basis ofdescriptions, we try to explain the syntactic, pragmatic and semantic features ofcausative sentence in Chinese and Korean, aiming at a further understanding ofcausative sentence.The dissertation is divided into four parts:Chapter one: Introduction. In this part, we firstly clarify the objectives, values andresearch method of the study. And then we briefly introduce the pervious studies on thecontrastive analysis of causative sentence in Chinese and Korean.In Chapter two, we separately introduce the definition and classification ofcausative sentence in Chinese and Korean.In Chapter three, from the perspectives of syntax, semantics and pragmatics, wemake a detailed contrastive analysis on causative sentence in Chinese and Korean. Insyntax, we contrast the word class nature and syntactic properties of causative sentencein Chinese and Korean; in semantics, we contrast the semantic features and types ofcausative sentence; in pragmatics, we contrast the pragmatic features of causative sentences in these two languages.Chapter four: Conclusion. In this part, we make a conclusion on the basis of theanalysis; meanwhile, we point out the shortcoming of the study and provide somesuggestions for further analyses on this topic.
