Tanizaki Jun’ichirou, who represents Japanese aestheticism movement, is an iconic figure in Japan’s modern history of literature. With the worship at western aestheticism, he transplanted aesthetic and decadent styles of western aesthetes into Japanese literature of his own region subtly and created Tanizaki’s Literature with his unique feature which elaborated the rebellion against conventional pattern of life and ethics, the trace for the pleasure of luscious simulation, flawless combination with evil and beauty, emerging a distinct aesthetic ocean for people and pouring fresh current into Japan’s modern history of literature. After immigrating to Kansai, Tanizaki was approaching to Japanese natural scenery and tasted the Japanese classical beauty, gradually losing the enthusiasm for luscious indulgence. With the clash between western cultivation and Japanese native culture, he explored the better way to broad his vision of aestheticism in Japanese conventional culture. Then’Sasame yuki’, his masterpiece, was finished.’Sasame yuki in the history of Japanese literature has play a decisive role position, and have a strong appeal to many scholars. Many scholars analysed and studied Tanizaki’s style based on his works in his early stage and short stage from Narrative perspective、Character and local convention in the area of Kansai. but System analysis Tanizaki’s traditional classical beauty world is less. This dissertation analysed the convertion of Tanizaki’s writing style based on his works in his early stage and short stage, and studied the personalities and living attitudes of the protagonists—his four sisters—by way of intensive reading for’Sasame yuki’and local convention in the area of Kansai, which indicated the beauty that Tanizaki pursued was not art for art’s sake, but the beauty discovering in our lives. In this world of traditional classical beauty constructed in the novel Sasame yuki, we try to find the literature thinkings and meaning indicated in Tanizaki’s works of his later life. For the recognition of the essence of beauty—the return of Japan’s classical beauty and a constant pursue to classical beauty enrich the content of beauty—it is not just about a superficial enjoyment and feeling, instead, the true meaning of life has been paid a great attention, which find the beauty in depth and sublimate it to a spiritual one. We should combine and concern our beauty and life,in which we find the art and harmony among nature, society and humans. And then, sublimate the harmony to an insight of beauty.
