The inscription of Xi ping shi jing in the East Han dynasty was an important event in the history of classical studies. The reason is not only because they have been engraved in the turning point of New text studies and Old text studies, when their arguments are growing into an organic whole, but also because this inscription had opened the prologue for several inscriptions in acient China. We can study the Xi ping shijing by the aid of records in history, and we can study it with the help of remaining stones today, we can also make use of the fruitions of the scholars in history, but I think we should pay more attention to the history of culture and Text Studies in the East Han dynasty.Thereby, this thesis bases on the texts firstly, further more stands on the height of the history of Text studies and culture in East Han dynasty to display the inscription in acient China. In this paper we want to solve two main questions. The first is to study the history of culture and classical studies in the East Han dynasty. This question also contains two small questions, the first is about the emperors’attitudes to classical studies and cultivation in Confusion. As you know,in East Han dynasty classical studies have always mingled with the politics.so,I think our selection is a typical case.the other question we select is about the three arguments of classical studies in Han dynasty before the scription of Xi ping shijing.we know that in the history of classical studies.the dispute between New text studies and Old text studies is a great academic landscape.so.I think this case we choose is also typical.Another big question in the thesis is about Xi ping shijing itself. This part includes: sorting out data and distinguishing, distinguishing the names of Xi ping shi jing in history.and the members who have engaged in the inscription.
