Animation is an important part of the Chinese film and television arts. As an significant exhibition of the Chinese folk art and ethnic characteristics, nowadays Chinese cartoon is also an important cultural factor to promote the development of cultural industries which can not be ignored. Through exploration and efforts of numerous artists in its40-year development history, Chinese cartoon industry have created the animation works with distinctive ethnic traditional art features. These Chinese animation works, with strong ethnic characteristics glittering on the stage, become the pride of our nation. But with the development of a variety of commercial animation,Chinese animation hits the bottom in a certain period of time without obvious animation market and is gradually replaced by cartoons with deeper commercialization. It is an issue worth our concern that how to seek for the new development of Chinese animation and to reproduce the glory of the "Chinese School" and to penetrate the national aesthetic cultural elements into animation and movies.In this paper, it adopts a research method combining the cultural theory with material proof from the perspective of aesthetic culture to analyze the unique fascination of Chinese cartoon.it takes "unique national aesthetic culture" as the core and puts three major ethnic elements throughout the animation which are traditional Chinese art of shadow play, folk paper-cut and ink painting and also takes the world-renowned animation cartoon positioning as a starting point to Re-examine and define the animation in favor of the elements of national culture revalued by people.This essay is divided into three parts. The first part, it makes a supplementary research to study Chinese animation from the view of traditional culture and artistic characteristics.Paper-cut animation, for instance, it should be cleared in the first place that the paper-cut animation comes in being that is based on the art of shadow play and folk paper-cut, pointing out that the Chinese animation has a unique national cultural identity with those traditional cultural connotations like cutting, clipping, engraving graving, drama, carving brick.etc, which has an indelible reference to the development of follow-up animation; Second, it generalizes and combing out the history of the development of paper-cut animation with Specific animation works as an example, emphasizing the aesthetic significance.Finally, analyzing out the paper-cut animation that exerts the aesthetic initiative to a maximum extent as a pattern of post-modern art, which has an irreplaceable aesthetic feature. The second part, to inspect and to demonstrate on the Theme style, character shape, narration skill in Chinese animation from the perspective of aesthetic style and aesthetic features,stressing those aesthetic elements and aesthetic effects such as "Artistic conception beauty" and "moral beauty" in Chinese animationThe third part, to come up with particular advice from the perspective of theoretical explanation and text analysis in three aspects:The significance of development of the local traditional culture of Chinese cartoon; Definition of the unique style of art and culture in theChinese cartoon; To train Animation peple with a sense of national responsibility...
