Karasahr located in the southwest TienShan, was the important station on the midline of the silk road, was one of the five traditional western city state kingdoms. From seven to nine centuries, the central government and each eastern national regime was in the process of competitio. Karasahr, on the special geographical of the western regions, was unconsciously involved in the battle of the country in eastern regions. From seven to nine century, through discussing the competition among major national political power in the western regions, the author focuses on the Karasahr which played the role in this process. According to Karasahr in the process of western subordinate relations, the author divides the period of seven to nine century into five times, then analyzes the relationship between each government and the Karasahr.In the early seventh century (604-617), originally, Karasahr belonged to the west Turki, then joined in Title, and also established the tributary relations with Sui Dynasty. Later, Karasahr joined to the west Turki again, which was under the supervision of the west Turki.In the seventh century (618-649), through restarted the Daqi Road, Karasahr and Tang Dynasty established the tributary relations. During the period of Dulo and Xilishi clan Khan, the west Turki had strengthened intimate relationship with the Karasahr. Up to the period of Yibiduoluo and Yibishekui clan Khan, in order to restore the leading status in the western regions, the west Turki co-opted the Karasahr and confronted the Tang Dynasty. Finally, Tang Dynasty crushed the west Turki, conquered the Karasahr, and then setted the Dudufu in the Karasahr.In the late period of seventh century (650-699), Tang Dynasty setted four garrison commands of Anxi, strengthening the management of city states, such as Karasahr Garrison. At the same time, Tubo was also joined in the rank of the contest in the western regions, and united the west Turki, leading to Four Garrisons including Karasahr Garrison abandoned or reseted constantly. Tang Dynasty took some measures like strengthening Four Garrison Dudufu, including Karasahr Dudufu, cooperated with Four Garrisons including Karasahr Garrison, replaced the Karasahr Garrison with Suyab Garrison, and launched the contend with Tubo and its affiliated the west Turki for the city state regime like the Karasahr.In the early eighth century (700-754), due to colliding with the leadership of the "Liangxiang Shixing", Turgis spreaded the race for Karasahr which controlled by the Tang Dynasty. Later, Tang Dynasty choosed the strategy of conciliation with the Turgis against other western national regime, then the Karasahr was listed as the one of the four garrison commands of Anxi again. Karasahr continued to remain the tributary relations of the Tang Dynasty, whose dominant position to Karasahr was still solid.In the late period of eighth century (755-899), the situation in the western regions was more unrested, But the Karasahr Dudufu and Karasahr Garrison established by the Tang Dynasty was still existed, the Karasahr was still attached to Tang Dynasty. Up to Eight century ninth century (794-845), the Karasahr was occupied by the Tubo and the Uyghur first and last. Ninth century later (845-888), firstly, Karasahr belonged to the influence of the Kirgiz. Later, the moved westward Uyghur established the Anxi Uyghur Kingdom and the Gaochang Uyghur Kingdom, which dominated the Karasahr first and last, but a batch of dragon tribe who dominated the Karasahr once had migrated to the surroundings of Kanchou, Suchou or Yichou at last.
