This study systematically researched on the theories and concepts of self-efficacy,self-efficacy in occupation and occupation decision-making self-efficacy, as well as therelative research results on occupation decision-making self-efficacy in and abroad.558students were included in as the research object, which come from Grade1and2ofPanjin Vocational and Technical College. The researcher investigated the students’current status of occupation decision-making self-efficacy through a gauging tablecalled “College Students’ Occupation Decision-making Self-efficacy”, in which theresearcher designed only4variables (gender, grades, students and work experience).The study is about whether these variables influenced the students’ occupationdecision-making self-efficacy, and the conclusions are as follows:First, during the process of occupation decision-making, boys’ self-efficacy aresignificantly higher than girls’ in self-evaluation, collecting information and solvingproblems., while girls are slightly higher than boys in planning dimension. However,there seems no difference between them in the selection of target dimension.Second, students with different grade background showed different performingcharacteristics in the process of occupation decision-making. The second grade studentswere significantly higher than that of the first grade students in occupationdecision-making self-efficacy dimension, information collecting dimension andproblems solving dimension, while they didn’t vary or not vary significantly inchoosing targets and planning as well as the total scores of the full scale.Third, concerning on these four dimensions (self-evaluation, information collection,selection of target and planning) in the process of occupation decision-making,vocational college students with work experience scored slightly higher than those withno work experience; and in the problem solving dimension, students with workexperience scored significantly higher than those with no experience.Fourth, in the process of occupation decision-making, urban students scoredsignificantly higher than the rural students in self-evaluation and information collecting;while in selecting targets, planning and problem solving dimension, the two groupsshowed no visible difference.Intervention programs were also designed in this study. We could conduct intervention on students’ occupation decision-making self-efficacy by group counselingmethods. The conclusions are as follows: the group counseling can improve thestudents’ occupation self-efficacy.
