The Ge people, of which there are less than50,000, live at the edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in Southeast China. Since Ge people do not have their own characters, batik decorative patterns replaced the written language features, to teach future generations the nation’s history, culture, religion, production knowledge and the ancient custom. Ge people’s batik Art have their own peculiarity, it always stick to the old craft,cultural connotations, life philosophy and aesthetic significance, for the minority ethnic groups and the whole of human society, is an intangible asset. In today’s global economy, folk culture hit, Study of the Ge People’s batik decorative patterns is not only historic, but also has practical significance.In order to gather more extensive and accurate information, in the course of the study subjects, I went to the field survey in Kaili City, Guizhou Province. I interviewed a number of senior batik makers, access to valuable pictures and oral information. I also made contact with the local national workers through the Internet, consulting a number of problems associated with the topic. Chapter I describe the geographical environment, historical situation and its position in the aesthetic culture of the Ge people’s batik. Chapter II introduction types of the Ge people’s batik decorative patterns. Chapter III pointed out that the connotation of batik decorative patterns deep,far beyond the domain of individual experience and emotion, the original point directly to the human experience. I also studied for its artistic quality on its pattern of meaning, color content, modeling features and composition law; Chapter IV, sum up the aesthetic value, spiritual value, aesthetic value and development value of folklore.
