The People's Republic Of China Since The Reform And Opening Up The Development Of Diplomatic History Research

The research on diplomatic history of the People’s Republic of China has emerged rapidly in the academic circle of China since the reform and opening up. Chinese scholars, who studied the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic history, have gained a comprehensive, systematic, extensive and spectacular achievements, and further than previous research level on the breadth and depth of the research. So far, the special study analysis work of the research on the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic history research since the reform and opening up has rarely seen the publication, nor the research paper among the Chinese academic circle. What’s more, the masterpiece and paper of the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic history achievements used historical style to analyze and give comments was not found yet. This paper can be regarded as a beneficial attempt with originality, which used historical view to study the Mainland chinese scholars on the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic history since the reform and opening up.In the preface of the article defines the introduction of the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic history academic research, expounds the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic history research status since the reform and opening up and this research of the thinking and innovative points.Chapter one reviews the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic research survey since the reform and opening up, including:establishing formal research institutions and academic organizations, forming a certain scale research team, Chinese and foreign academic exchanges become more frequent, promoting frequent subject blend, widing the field of vision of research, publishing a large number of documents which is favorable condition for developing academic research. And it also publishes a large number of research achievements (including diplomatic general history, bilateral relations and special thematic history monographs, etc). It promotes the academic research further development. Besides, the paper discusses an overview research of diplomatic history of the People’s Republic of reform and opening up of the history.Chapter two, three and four select respectively various stages representative diplomatic history book from the1980s, the1990s, and the2000s to sum up the study of the achievements and existing problems from the view of historical thinking, historiography achievements, historiography methods and deficiencies of the study and analysis, in order to show the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic research of the general situation and characteristics in different period.Finally, the paper summarizes the research achievements and deficiency of the People’s Republic of China’s diplomatic history since the reform and opening up, and comes up with some further direction: strengthening the team building, establishing a rational structure of high level research team, strengthening the construction of data work, guiding diplomatic discipline coordination and balanced development, actively developing Chinese and foreign academic exchanges, and standardized study should be further improved.
