The theory of the social organism in Marx’s doctrine is an important part ofMarxism theory. Hegel regardedthe society as an organism by way of own movement of absolute spirit; Feuerbach alsotried to describe the human society as a harmonious organism by abstract “love”,though he had no idea that human practice itself is the basic element for socialrelationship.The social organism thought in the utopian socialism theory undertook thethorough exploration of the historical place of capitalism and its development trend,but due to time limitation of development, Erwin et al had respectively described thesocial reform programs, but they had not found their ways to realize their thoughts andfallen into the dreams. The Comte and Spencer’s social organism thought of Positivism,was actually a point of view and method to analyze the society with the biologicalorganism concepts. On the basis of critical inheritance, Marx founded the scientifictheory of the social organism.Through the systematic investigation on all human social life and theirrelationship, Marx pointed out that the human society was a social organism where allkinds of social relations exist as while interdependently exist based on the mode ofproduction. In German Ideology, Marx and Engels followed a "new materialism" viewof the world,"the essence social life is the practice", they called the new historicalview they formed as the "positive science", and the "positive science" in essence, is toregard the human society as an evolving organism that follows its immanentinevitability, is a continuously updated organism generated based on the humanpractice. The research achievements made by Marx on political economy, greatlypromoted the establishment of historical materialism. The publication of the works such "Das Capital" and other writings conducted scientific argumentation on his socialorganism theory, well enriching the Marx theory of the social organism. As Marx says,the earlier philosophers only explained the world with different theories, his newhistorical materialism could change the whole world in the practice that transforms thematerial world.The Marx’s theory of social organism rooted in the human practice, successfullyrealized the sublating and transcending of the traditional thought of the socialorganism.
