New Generation Migrant Workers Mating Predicament And Countermeasure Research

With China’s industrialization and modernization and urbanization and thedevelopment of the international process, more and more new generation migrantworkers began pouring into the city, becoming the main force of migrant workers, andplayed a more and more important role gradually in economic and social development.Compared with the traditional migrant workers, the new generation migrant workershave distinct characteristics. They are younger, high culture and new concept, and thefeelings to rural area and land is increasingly indifference. Living and working in thecity, being city dwellers do have become their new vision. They are just in the matingage, but for the macro, medium and micro reason strands effect, can’t achieve thesmooth mating behavior, into a predicament spouse.Based on the case of documents and interviews, the paper construct the newgeneration migrant workers index system of the mating dilemma from four aspectswhich are concept of mate choice; range of mate choice; strength of mate choice; andpressure of mate choice. Based on the manifestation of mating dilemma, the paperanalyses the influencing factors of mating dilemma through ecological system theoryand social support theory; think the mating dilemma of new generation migrantworkers in essence is a reflect that the new generation of rural migrant workers can’tblend in city life smoothly. It is also a reflection of contradiction between the newgeneration migrant workers’ identity and the current social system. So we need toconstruct and perfect the new generation migrant workers’ social support network.And the support of the construction of network needs not only the government’spolicy shift and support, also need to community, enterprises to work hard togetherand maintenance, needs social third sector to join and participation. At the same time,from the perspective of social work, the new generation migrant workers’ spiritualwelfare also needs to join in.
