At the beginning of Nixon taking office, Nixon published the Guam speechwhich expanded to the Nixon Doctrine later. Nixon changed the policy that theAmerican ex-president took towards the Middle East and participated in the solutionof Arab-Israeli conflict in order to maintain the dominant position of America in theMiddle East. Egypt, as the representative of the Arab world, its diplomatic relationwith America became a little bit volatile with the change of the aids which offered byAmerica Since the "Six Day War", America cut off the diplomatic relations withEgypt, however, they did not really cut off the diplomatic relations, instead, theycommunicated in other channels. After Nixon taking office, he adjusted the Americanglobal strategy, and he also adjusted the policy towards the Middle East accordingly,at the same time, the aids offered to Egypt began to recover gradually after theseverance of diplomatic relations from the” Six Day War”. In this period of time, therewere many factors influenced the diplomatic relations between America and Egypt, except the policy concerning on the Arab-Israeli dispute and the American globalstrategy and the policy adopted during the Cold War, the change of the aids policy wasalso a factor that could not be neglected. As a part of the diplomatic relations, reliedon the dominant advantages, America achieved the control of many countries by usingthe foreign aid policy, therefore, America maintained its national interests in allregions of the world.Besides, the National Security Study Memoranda (U.S.) and the “WatergateEvent” made the American Aids Policy towards Egypt changed, and these two eventsalso influenced the relationship between these two countries. However, this aspectwas neglected. In the1960s and the1970s (Nixon governed the Americangovernment), the relationship between America and Egypt could be modified as “move in being quiet and be quiet in moving”. The October War was another turningpoint of the American-Egyptian relationship, then Nixon was forced to resign becauseof the “Watergate Event” and Ford, the American President took office. Therelationship between American and Egypt gained the rapid development because ofthe last of the Aids Policy. In the meantime, Sadat, the Egyptian President, played acrucial role in the development of American-Egyptian relationship.
