Red, Green, German Foreign Alliance Period "green" Analysis

Bündnis90/Die Grünen (hereinafter referred to as the Greens) is a unique emerging politicalparty among German politics. The guiding ideas of the party are continuously in adjustment whenit emerged from the street into the parliament, in order to adapt to the internal and externalenvironment and the changes of their own political status. In the1998federal election of theBundestag, the green party and the social Democrats gained for a parliamentary majority andformed a red-green coalition government. This was the first time which the Greens gained thestate power, and the Greens got re-elected in the2002general election by outstandingperformance.Red-green coalition faced a new diplomatic style period with the wide attention frominternational community. Compared with the SPD of rich government experiences, the Greens’foreign ideas were too idealistic, but the green party under the guide of absolute pacifism facingthe complicated international problems and domestic political reality urged the innovation of thediplomatic ideas. Joschka Fisher, as a representative of the green party pragmatists in foreignphilosophy advocate the engaged pacifism, which claimed that critical solidarity of Germany-USrelations does not only revealed the transformation of the Green party itself, but also providesdiplomatic means for Germany in kosovo crisis supplemented by military means. After the9/11incident, Germany have engaged the war in Afghanistan war and in Iraq with same position butdifferent policies, which demonstrated that the Greens has been grown-up and the “Green Policy”was no longer only the private words for the Greens, but gradually become a German foreign stylein the near future.
