This paper is based on the political culture theory, with political culture analysisand historical analysis.The author firstly introduces the basic political culture orientation of Taiwansociety in the1950s, which inherited the traditional character of the “Subject PoliticalCulture” by the Chinese Nations. Through the implantation, dissemination anddiffusion of “Participant Political Culture”, the “Outside Party Movement” in Taiwanbrought great challenges to the KMT authoritarian regime. In the late1980s, with theauthority’s political reform, Taiwan achieved a transition to democracy society fromthe one of authoritarian. During the transition process, the participant political culturehas formed and being further developed. The author found that, on the ground ofTaiwan’s unique history and social characteristics, the Participant Political Culture inTaiwan has two sides, the positive one and the negative one. Taiwan’s politicalculture remains the characters of conflict and populist, as well as other variedproblems, which are mainly represented by the conflict between political parties andthe confrontations between the “blue” and “green” camps, leading to a separatedsociety. |
