The Pashtun issue is an important factor influencing the Afghan-Pakistan relations. The Pashtun produced between Afghanistan and the British-Indian government, in19th century, and then evolved into a dispute between Afghanistan and Pakistan after the India-Pakistan divided. The realationship between Afghan-Pakistan suffered a setback at the beginning.The Durand Line constitutes parts of the state boundaries between the two countries,which divided pashtun into two parts. The Afghanistan government has never admitted its validity. The two countries has disputed over the Durand Line that was caused by the Pashtun issue in recent years.Pashtun issue is the most improtant national interests for the two countries,whether it can resolve properly related to the region stable, especially the security of border areas. The relations of the two countries suffered a number of twists and turns for the Pashtun issue.The Pashtun issue is a potential risk of bilateral relations and regional peace and stability.Solving the Pashtun problems need to exclude the interference of the Big Powers.It’s better for the two countries to solve the Pashtun problems through consultations and negotiations,which also need to consider the attitude of the the Pashtuns local residents, that is the completely problem-solving ideas.
