Since China has carried out the relatively strict population control policy "family planning ",it has eased the problem of expanding population and at the same time it has aggravated the problem of aging population.By the end of2009,the number of the aged people who are over60reached16.7million, taking up12.5%of the national population. When the percentage of aged people who are over60on total population is over10%, it is a sign of stepping into aging society according to the United Nation index.In1990,world health organization (WHO) put forward the aim of "healthy aging", which requires the aged people to reach the perfect state of physical, psychological and social functions. In1999,WHO put forward a slogan "active aging". Active aging has three dimensions, including health, participation and security. The reduction of the traditional family endowment function and the imperfection of institutional endowment development induce family endowment business.The paper uses the approach of field study. It takes senior house on Shilu road Jinchang district, Suzhou as an example to investigate the current situation of city endowment under the perspective of active aging, the current dilemma and the suggestions for future development. The first chapter and the second chapter are introduction.literature review and study design. The third, the fourth and the fifth chapters introduce the current city family endowment work from the dimensions of "health","participation" and "security", taking senior house on Shilu road, Jinchang district, Suzhou as an example.The sixth chapter and the seventh chapter introduce the current dilemma in family endowment and suggestions for future development,with the hope to promote the urban community family endowment in our country.
