The Research On The Question Of Constructing The Social Support Network Of The Disabled People’s Cultural Participation

The people with disabilities are social vulnerable groups,and they need social careand help.Cultural participation has an important meaning,not only to themselves,but alsoto their families and the society.This paper is based on the social support theory.Theresearch takes cultural life of the disabled people from the city of Suzhou as researchobjects,using literature method,survey method,case interviews method and participantobservation method.By analyzing the questionnaire data conducted in December2011,thecurrent study describes the case of the cultural participation and explores the effect ofsocial support on the cultural participation. The results show that the disabled peoplewould like to join the cultural life,but the ways to share are few and the quality is nothigh,because the social supporting forces are weak.This paper pays more attention to analyze the cause of weak social supportingforces.In their social supporting networks,the proportion of kin ties is large,especially thefamily ties. But the support from social organizations is little.And the disabled people donot make good use of the social support.Finally,this paper gives some advice to constructthe social support network.
