Marx and Engels’classic works include all aspects of the social life, therefore, systemic research and comprehensive analysis are indispensable if you want to grasp the law of the development of society.From1950to1960, the capitalist countries in Europe and America finished their industrial revolution and were ready to shift to imperialism. A lot of important historical events happened in this period in the worldwide. The social productivity developed enormously, economy raised vastly and the material wealth grew sharply. At the same time, the capitalist class and the proletariat appeared due to the extreme revolution of social structure. The common people became poorer which resulted in the exposition of social contradiction and the emergence of labor movements. Aiming for the cheap sources of raw materials, the major capitalist countries in Europe invaded crazily into the colonies, which pushed the people in the colonies into deeper impoverishment and harder situation, as a result, the people in the colonies launched a series of such intense national revolutionary movements as the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement in China, the Opium War, and Great National Uprising in India, to name just a few. All these movements gave a heavy blow to the colonial countries, and had promoting effect on the democratic movements in European countries. Marx and Engels also paid great attention to the oriental issues, the issues of Turkey in particular. In this period, the inner contradictions in the major capitalist countries in West Europe were protruded, the power of proletariat got strengthened, and the mind of people weakened, thus some important events happened in the European countries. Marx’s comment on the situation of European countries and the oriental issues were as follows:France Class Struggle in1848-1850; Britain Parliamentary Struggle; The Eighteenth Brumaire of Loius Bonaparte;Standing on the shoulder of history, Marx and Engels analyzed those events and conducted deep research, at the same time, they wrote a lot of articles to express the truth of the history, revealing the connection, essence and significance among these events according to the historical materialism and summarizing intensive and extensive meaning from the philosophical angle. The Historical materialism scientifically elaborated the common law of the development of human society, and explained that the driving power of the development of human society is the contradictive movements between productivity and relations of production, or economic foundation and superstructure. When analyzing the historical events occurred in1850～1860, Marx paid much attention to economics in particular, and tried to interpret these events from the angle of historical materialism based on the economic situation at that time.
