Korea-Japan relations are very important in terms of each other, but it is verycomplex, full of cooperation and friction. This article described the Korea-Japanrelations, focused on Japan’s foreign policy in South Korea after the ColdWar .From which to explore the evolution trajectory of Korea’s policy towardsJapan, analysis of the status of the Korean-Japanese relations and its historicalcauses and practical reasons. The article is divided into the Situation- Reason -Looking three parts.Part 1:The article combes Korean′s policy towards Japan after the Cold WarSouth Korean presidents Kim Young-sam, Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun untilthe incumbent President Lee Myung-bak. Repositioning by the Kim Young Samperiod of Korean-Japanese relations, to the overall improvement of the KimDae-jung period of Korean-Japanese relations, go to the beginning of the RohMoo-hyun’s Korean-Japanese relations well, but the later relationship came to astandstill, finally Lee Myung-bak attempted to repair relations with Japan, but stillturns worse again. Describes the Cold War since the South Korean Foreign policychange and the evolution path of the Korea-Japan relations.Part 2: the article analysis Korean-Japanese relations from a historical andpractical reasons. Korea-Japan relations have been repeatedly in the history andreality, interests and emotions, multilateral and bilateral. Historical issues, as wellas the sovereignty of Dokdo, which spans the biggest obstacle in theKorean-Japanese relations, followed by the United States and North Korea have agreat influence on Korean-Japanese relations. In addition, the Korea-Japanrelationship level between the two countries most closely Korea-Japan economicand trade relations there are disputes of interest.Part 3:Specifically addressed the status of the Korean-Japanese relations,instructions the characteristics of its quasi-alliance and looking forward to the Korean-Japanese relations. Throughout the history of the development ofKorean-Japanese relations after the Cold War.It has the characteristics of theturbulence is greater than the stable, Korean-Japanese relations are always twistsand turns.
