In the May Fourth movement, he firstly encouraged students to give back to the May Fourth movement, encouraged different levels of Shanghainese to launch the Sixth Third movement, and made the best of "consciousness" to support the combat of striking. He also studied and researched Marxist actively, participated in building up the Marxist Seminar, joined in founding the forepart organization of Chinese Communist Party, and took part in setting up the Chinese Communist Party.Shao Lizi’s thoughts and practical activities produced significant effects in the May Fourth times.
