The communist party and the government of new China were facing series ofcomplicated social problems during the early days of new China, especially theprostituted problem. The old social prostituted system which is hand down was notonly devastating the physical and mental health of the majority of women, but alsoseriously endangering social harmony and stability. For this, the communist party andthe government resolutely determined to take vigorous measures to ban and abolishthe brothels and prostitutes and punish the owners of brothels and prostitutes, urgingthe prostitutes to accept the transformation, which, in a few years, completely root thesocial evils. The prostitutes who were oppressed had been rescued and had lived on anew life. To research the process and policies of closing and banning brothels andaccepting and transforming prostitutes in the early days of new China,which haspretty important practical reference for combating and controlling the resurgentprostitution phenomenon today.The thesis firstly describes the stage of the prostitution industry. In addition, itanalysis the characteristics and the harm of the prostitutes of the early days, forming acomprehensive understanding of the prostitutes. On this basis, it respectivelyintroduces four typical ways of the early days of prohibiting prostitutes——"Beijingway","Tianjin way","Wuhan way" and "Guangzhou way". According to a briefdescription of the prohibition about prostitution in four cities, analyzing andcomparing the similarities and differences of the four ways of prohibition aboutprostitution, in order to reflect the nationwide prohibition of prostitution movementon carrying out the case.Finally, base on the previous paper, the thesis summarizes thesuccessful historical experiences of the early days of prohibition about prostitutionmovement: the introduction of centralized leadership, unified command, multi-linewith the prohibition of prostitution of action; comprehensive prohibition ofprostitution, different treat; strengthening the prohibition of prostitution legislation,improving the prohibition of prostitution legal system; strengthening the ideologicaland political education; upholding the concept of people-oriented and focus onideological and moral and emotional education; carrying out publicity and educationdeeply, widely mobilize all the power of society; concerning the follow-up daily lifeof prostitutes and making subsequent arrangements; prohibiting prostitutes andclearing the other social evils in conjunction to develop an integrated governance.
