Research On Sudden Environmental Pollution Accidents Emergency Management Mechanism

With the development of industrialization, urbanization and newrural construction， China’s environmental problems have beenaccelerated, and new environmental problems have emerged, increasinggreat number of sudden environmental pollution accidents. In recentyears, it has been a fact that China’s environmental pollution accidents,especially sudden environmental pollution accidents have occurred in alarge proportion. The Songhua River Sudden pollution incident, the TaihuLake algae crisis, the Qujing chromium slag pollution incidents, andConocoPhillips oil spill accidents have been a serious impact to people’slife, economic development and social stability. These accidents revealedthe drawbacks of the environmental emergency management.Establishing an efficient emergency response mechanism for suddenenvironmental pollution accident is the premise of prevention ofenvironmental pollution accidents, reducing its damages, providingpeople a comfortable condition and environment to live and work, and itis the guarantee of harmonious development of society and environment.As long as a sound environmental emergency management mechanism isestablished, then the ability of government to respond effectively toenvironmental emergencies can be improved, so that the trust of thecitizens can be gained, and it is credibility increased. In this paper, it isdiscussed that how to establish an efficient environmental emergencymechanism, putting forward the existent problems and countermeasures.
