Biochemical Terrorist Attacks Of Chinese Government Crisis PR

Based on the ideas of introducing the concepts of biochemical terrorist attacks and government’s PR crisis (public relations crisis), this paper summarizes the role, function, value and specificity of government’s PR crisis when confronting with the biochemical terrorist attacks; analyses the current situations and problems of Chinese governments’ PR crisis, such as the insufficiency of the crisis public relation ideas, talented people and communication, or the inability for the public to resist the crisis. All these problems make it even more difficult for the governments to coordinate public relations under severe biochemical terrorist attacks and at the same time, the crisis expand faster, broader and more complicated owing to the information era we live in and this in return highlights the importance of government PR during the biochemical terrorists attacks. Due to the great practical threats posed by the biochemical terrorist attacks, governments have to attach greater importance to the measures of government’s public relation and its revolutions. Meanwhile, governments come up with the idea that be more open-hearted to use PR measures, learning how to communicate and maintain good relationships with the media and finally comfort the public, maintain the social order of the nation with the help of media. In the last part, this paper introduces the common procedure of the public relations under crisis situation. It concludes the successful experience of public relations under terrorist situation by analyzing US federal government, state government and related departments when confront with anthrax virus attack, through which the paper builds China’s public relation system when confronts with biochemical terrorist attacks. Chinese government must take fully use of the public relation measures to collect goods, materials and technology and to work together with all the measures taken by governments in order to collect, predict and guide the important information of the attack. Under this circumstances, government is able to control the social and psychological reactions caused by the attacks and ultimately concentrate the power of the whole country to perfectly cope with the biochemical terrorist attacks, Minimise harm.
