Adolescence is a critical period of physical and mental development of the youth, at the same time; it is also the high risk stage of arising psychological conflict, emotional problems. Therefore, adolescent teenagers is more serious with anxiety and depression problems due to the lack of affection formed a unique emotion emotional experience,This dissertation mainly studies home-left adolescence in rural areas with two parts. By the means of questionnaire and interview, in the first part, this paper makes an investigation on leftover adolescences in rural areas and their current anxiety situation. For the other part, the intervention in groups is applied to handling these stay-at-home children, and the research on the result of intervention with anxiety and depression among the adolescences is explored subsequently. The survey was conducted among the students of Grade9in Xianzong Middle School in Hanshan, Anhui Province, which contained the following aspects. To begin with, the current situation of left behind adolescences and their expressions of the emotions were basically known, left-behind adolescence (both parents are working away)99, accounting for33.67%of total students, the male53, female46.Then, two classes in Grade9were investigated randomly to compare anxiety-depression emotion between these two types of children by using Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS). At last, the intervention group designed a two-month scheme in line with the anxiety and depression of these stay-at-home children consisting of seven-section group activities and organized two group activities, Intervention Group (1、2) and two control group (1、2), They all had experiments one by one, with Intervention Groups having group activities while the control groups didn’t have. Meanwhile, quantitative and qualitative analysis was adopted to ensure that the study results would be objective and impartial. In addition, results assessment and process assessment were combined to appraise the interventional effect. The questionnaire survey shows that the absence of affection made the adolescent children form a unique feeling of emotional experience. The concrete features are that, the importance of parents declined, they didn’t want to tell others about their innermost thoughts and troubles, they preferred to face and solve the problems in life or study by themselves, their study purposes were more realistic, the influence that their parents working away were towards negative and so on. The interviews with teachers showed that teachers were aware of that these home-left children mainly had the mental problems especially the emotional problems.According to the scale survey, the total score and standard score of the anxiety depression are higher in home-left children than in common children, and the anxiety depression level is higher in home-left children than in common children. There is a big gap between Intervention Group1on the anxiety and depression before and after the intervention activities, with a sharp decrease of the standard score, and so is Group2decreasing slightly. However, the differences between Control Group1and Group2in the standard score before and after activities are relatively small. Finally, the result of group assessment shows that the aims of the seven units and the goals of the intervention are almost achieved. Through the team’s assessment, the aims of the seven units and the goals of the intervention are realized. Also, through the analysis of some cases, the group members gave high scores on changes of the emotion cognition and processing, and had quite high satisfaction degree. The cases had clearer emotion cognition, and moreover, they did better in behavior and emotion. In general, the adolescence anxiety depression is serious, and the intervention method has a prominent effect on them, and also influenced common children to some extent.
