Objective At present, the left-behind children have become significant object topsychological scholars’ attention. Due to their special growth experiences, left-behindchildren are easy to have psychological problems, of which social anxiety anddepression are outstanding performances. Study confirms that group sandplay therapy inthe children’s mood has the positive role.Sandplay therapy is a psychological therapywhich the visitors selected toys free from the toy shelf in the company of the therapists,in the container with a special box of sand on the self-expression. Visitors use toys in asand box to express their unconscious world which could make the visitor’s self-healingto be developed. Group sandplay therapy combined advantage of sandplay therapy andgroup counseling, particularly suitable for specific groups of intervention with moreefficient.This study aims to make psychological intervention to the social anxiety anddepression problems of the left-behind children through group sandplay therapy whichis the right psychological treatment method, and this paper discusses the effect thepsychological intervention method has made.Methods Social Anxiety Scale for Children (SASC) and Depression Self-rating Scalefor Children (DSRSC) from reviewing two questionnaire survey to all questionnairestatistical data analysis to the grade five to seven students in TongZhuang secondaryvocational school of zaozhuang town of fuyang city from a total of160people, and twoquestionnaires were scored higher than the critical points which are suitable forpsychological intervention to40names as intervention object.156valid questionnaireswere received.The total time were seven weeks.After intervention for once a week group Sandplay therapy, to this40subjects of Social Anxiety Scale for Children (SASC)and Depression Self-rating Scale for Children (DSRSC) after the questionnaire, and theresults of the questionnaire and statistical data have been analysis and comparison.Results①Of the survey, the number of children left-behind was118(75.641%),non-left-behind children was38(24.359%). Social anxiety scale of children (SASC)and depression self-rating scale of children (DSRSC) exceed the critical points were71(45.513%) and40(25.641%), number of coincidence was40(25.641%), and thesechildren were all left-behind as interventions were tested.②Two scales results of left-behind children were significant differences compared withnon-left-behind children.Social anxiety detection rate of left-behind children was47.458%,while non-left-behind children was39.474%.The detection rate of depressionof left-behind children was33.898%, while non-left-behind children was0. Socialanxiety (t=3.091,P <0.01), fear of negative evaluation (t=2.711,P <0.01), socialavoidance and distress(t=2.643,P <0.01)and depression levels(t=2.550,P <0.05)of left-behind children were all significantly higher than non-left-behind children.③Subjects were measured before and after comparison of the two scales, thedifferences were significant. Social anxiety (t=4.111,P <0.001), fear of negativeevaluation(t=2.718,P <0.01), social avoidance and distress(t=4.250,P <0.001)and depression(t=3.490,P <0.01) decreased significantly after intervention.Conclusion①Left-behind children’s social anxiety and depression levels were higher thannon-left-behind children.②Social anxiety level and depression level of left-behind children had certain degree,and Social anxiety depression was higher than detection rate in this area.③Group sandplay intervention to children left-behind had a certain effect in social anxiety and depression problems.
