Experimental Study Of Group Counseling For Female Detainees Intervention Effects Of Depression Which In Detention Center

To explore the feasibility and effectiveness of group counseling in the detention center and provide improvement suggestions and measures in detainees' psychological health education as well as references on psychological correction for public security supervision department. The author mainly researched on the intervention effect of group counseling on the female detainees' depressions.In the research, the author selected two structural and homogeneous detainee groups. First a previous test was carried out. The depression levels were measured in two groups through Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) before the experiment. Then a one month's special counseling was carried out on the experimental group while the control group was free from intervention. After the experiment, the depression levels were measured through Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) again.The results showed that there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group before the experiment. After the experiment, there was no significant differences in the Depression Scale scores, however It can be seen from the mean value and point distribution of the case of depression scale, the depression scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than that of the control group. Based on the data of experimental group, the paired-sample variance analysis was carried out. The scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the previous test(P < 0.05). The research shows that group counseling has an significant intervention on the female detainees' depressions.
