The Adaptability Of The Three Gorges Immigrants

Non voluntary migration is one of the types of population flow, in general, the main reason of involuntary migration is the needs of engineering construction which caused by population mobility. Millions of immigrants who from Three Gorges need to be migrated to other strange culture regions as the project construction, these regions produced tremendous effect on the migration of production、life、culture、 psychology and so on, such as not accustomed to life. These effects produced certain of negative emotions to these migrations, so it’s not conducive to the development of immigration. Therefore, in the face of new place and different culture, immigrants must continue to adjust by themselves, recombinant culture, reconstruction of social structure and social relationship in order to adapt to the new community. However, during the adaptation process, different immigration have different adaptability due to personal, social and other factors.This article mainly uses ethnographic methods to describe and explain the Three Gorges immigrants who move to Hubei province Songzi city Yuanshi town living (Culture). Based on the in-depth interviews from immigration, local villagers and Government immigration staff, the writer want to describe a series of conditions during the adaptation process, include immigrants’ confusion about the future as well as the emergence of the Exodus. These conditions reflect the hidden in the immigrant who does not adapt a series of phenomenon, these incommensurate is actually due to the migration of the respective treatment and its cultural heterogeneity, that is these immigrants face different cultures, they emerged in different conditions. So study the adjustment of the immigrants in the placement, it’s not only academically contributes to develop the Ethnology culture theory’s local adaptive characteristics, rich ethnology immigration case studies. In real life, it does also contribute to the reality of immigration status and put forward constructive suggestions to them future.This paper is mainly divided into two parts. The first is the in-depth interview method which was used for the immigrants who was investigated on the way of life as a representative sample, such as the return of immigrants; immigration who did not shift; successful migration. Based on their experience, the writer do research and analyze these immigrants whether they could adjust the production and life from the new place after they shifted, and descript or narrate the background; emigrated before status; the production and life status after they moved to Yanshi town; the social structure; the reconstruction of social relation; and so on. This is followed by an in-depth investigation of local villagers and Government immigration staff, their attitudes and perceptions of immigration, will be let writer get better awareness and understanding of immigrants.The second part is mainly discuss and summarize the current situation about the Three Gorges immigrants, first is discuss the social and culture reasons which the immigration appeared in a variety of different adaptation phenomenon, and carry on the analysis these factors what impact of immigrant adaptation condition, the writer think that these factors mainly include the migration of power, two cultural background, social and environmental aspects. Then summarize the immigrants’ difficulties and problems in resettlement adaptation period, explore the future trend of immigration, so that the emigration is not as a result of social and environmental impact on their future life.Therefore, this paper argues that, led to the migration emerged different adaptive when they face the unfamiliar culture is due to the individuals of migration whether give full play to the subjective initiative, another is the social and environment whether provide for the survival and development elements for migrations. These two aspects are together effect, harmonious development, and indispensable.
