Study On Shanghai Solve To The Unemployed Intellectuals Registration And Processing Work(1951-1953)

Employment has a vital bearing on the people’s livelihood, to solve the unemployment problem is not only the necessities of their survival and development, but also the basis of promoting economic development and building a socialist harmonious society. It is much more important to solve the problem of intellectuals’employment, the development of whose talents and wisdom can help to promote the socialist modernization. At the beginning of the founding of New China, due to many factors such as economy, politics, culture, history and then social changes, large numbers of unemployed intellectuals existed throughout China, especially in large and medium-sized cities. Shanghai, as China’s largest industrial and commercial city, economic and financial center, had concentrated numbers of intellectuals, thus, the unemployment problem was more serious. Therefore, it was impossible to ignore the intellectuals’ unemployment problem in the early days of Shanghai. To consolidate new regime, stabilize social order, recover and develop national economic, a range of these issues has made the solution to the intellectuals’ employment at the top of agenda, which is also urgent to make unemployed intellectuals political identification to the new regime.Proceeding from this idea, and based on principles and policies of intellectuals unemployment solution that adopted by the central government in the early days (1951-1953). this thesis will put Shanghai’s registration and solution of unemployed intellectuals as a case study. Firstly, it introduces the general situation of the intellectuals’unemployment in Shanghai, and analyzes the reasons. Secondly, introduces the establishment of organizations and its approaches to deal with the intellectuals’unemployment, and conducted detailed analysis of the necessity of tackling this problem. And then elaborates the specific work in Shanghai’s registration and solution of unemployed intellectuals. Finally, this thesis makes an in-depth comment on the solution to the intellectuals’ unemployment, and comes away with some insights. The study on the solution to the intellectuals’unemployment problem in the early days of Shanghai is relatively weak, based on Archival and Historical Materials, this thesis focuses on figuring out the specific work of registration and solution to the intellectuals’unemployment problem, and the comment on it.Shanghai’s approaches to deal with the intellectuals’unemployment are still important references to solve the current problem, and to build the socialist harmonious society, and it will lead to a tremendous negative impact if handled improperly, not only causes a huge waste of talent and a serious impediment to China’s economic development, and even affects the overall situation of building the socialist harmonious society.
