US Think Tanks And The Sino-US Second-Track Diplomacy

Track Two Diplomacy plays a key role in the Sino-American relationship. Although there are many actors to take part in the Track Two diplomacy between China and the USA, think tanks are the most important ones. Therefore, the central topic which will be discussed in this paper is the Track Two Diplomacy ruled by think tanks. I find that American think tanks take part in the Track Two Diplomacy between America and China by the way of bilateral dialogue and conference、multilateral dialogue and conference etc. This kind of Track Two diplomacy provides the sensitive and complex issues with the stage, and the personal network with the stage, at the same time, the policy-making with the reference ideas.The research-target in this paper is the Brookings Institution which was the most influential think tank in2011, according to 《2011Global Go-To Think Tanks》.It developed the Track Two Diplomacy through seminar、speech by the Chinese officials and scholars and the visiting fellowship. The purpose of this kind of research is to deepen the related study.The Brookings Institution plays a key role in the Track Two Diplomacy between China and America, which shows the characters including the high level、the wild field, etc.
