Our Jin-Sui army combated in Suiyuan area, shielded the flanks of Party Central Committee and the Northwest Field Army,drew Fu Zuoyi’s main force,so reduced our military pressure in North of Shanxi, forming a solid barrier.The important reason of our army’s failure in Suiyuan Campaign is that we didn’t center superior force around Baotou at the most favourable moment,we were not firm between Suiyuan and Baotou,didn’t have a clear direction of attack especially we put force into Baotou gradually and successively,which consumed a large number of vital forces"Zheng Tai Lu" Battle, Nie Rongzhen, Luo,Xiao implemented Central Military Commission’s operational policy"Great advance and retreat, get rid of passive, execute initiative",bravely implemented Zhengtai operational plan,regardless of Chiang Kai-shek’s force in the north,and they concentrated superior forces in every stage of the battle, specified the main direction of attack and never shook,finally they not only annihilated the enemy,but also liberated vast tracts of land,making brilliant victory for JIn-Cha-Ji and Jin-Lu-Yu Liberated AreaConsolidating the liberated areas,avoiding combat without rear are extremely important for our force, and they are Material foundations to support long-term war.Whether the logistics is in time and complete or not is directly related to victory or defeat in war.Looking back over the history of our war army,battles without rear were very unusually difficult,and if we lose our rear,we will be probably defeated or even destroyed by our enemy.One of the main reasons for Suiyuan Campaign’s failure of our army force is that we were lack of stable logistics assurance in the new battle area. During the process,they acquired great success,but we also lost much army force.
