The Hedong phenomena in of the end of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasty and Early Song Dynasty is a historical phenomenon which has a high research value. However, the academic community hasn’t paid enough attention to this research subject. The previous scholars often focus on nationality and political group, and they put forward the concepts of the three Shatuo dynasties and Daibei blocs and so on. Nevertheless, in order to get the more scientific and comprehensive knowledge on this subject, the author decides to study this historical period from the new visual angle of the governor of Hedong. In the long course of the learning and studying, the writer find a historical trend that the provisional governors of Hedong and his influence always play an irreplaceable role in the regime change from latter Tang to Early Song Dynasty. According to this trend, the author proposes the concept of Hedong phenomena and carry out a detailed study of it. The key line of this academic thesis is the historical process of Hedong phenomena from production to disappearance, it includes six main aspects:its concept, its origin, its development history, its analysis on the causes, its disappearance and the deep thoughts on this historical phenomenon. On the basis of deep researching and analyzing the Hedong phenomena, the author thinks that this thesis shows historical value from two aspects. As far as the history of Sui Tang and Wudai Dynasty, the historians always put a lot of stress on the times of peace and prosperity in the Sui and Tang dynasties, but the study of the essence of troubled times in the end of Tang Dynasty and Wu Dai is very insufficient, so the author hopes that this graduation thesis can help the readers to sort out this historical trail of development. In addition, by reexamining the whole historical course of the end of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasty and Early Song Dynasty in the view of Hedong phenomena, our understanding of this Transitional period of Chinese history will be much more reasonable and comprehensive.
