With the development of human society and the advance of modernization, agingof the population, one of the vital social problems facing to all the countries in theworld, has become the inevitable stage and the unchangeable fact of the socialdevelopment. In1999, China formally entered the aging society with a big and fastgrowing population of elderly, showing the feature of aging and empty nest, which ischallenging our aged social service. And it’s really a difficulty that the governmentshave to face.Recently, under the concerns of all levels of party and governments, the socialservice system construction for elderly has got some positive achievement. Thenumber of accommodation for the aged has been rising steadily. The scale of socialservice has been growing continuously. And the cultural life of aged has been richincreasingly. However, the system still leaves much to be desired considering itsnever-ending situations, tasks and demands. Thus, the thesis, using the methodologyof comparative analysis, statistical analysis, theoretical hypothesis and empiricalanalysis, combing sociology, demography, psychology, statistics and managementscience theory, elaborates the current situation and the future trend of the aging inChina and analyzes the social service system construction of aged.On the basis of the theoretical research and the realistic analysis for currentservice system, the writer proposes some suggestions to speed up the construction ofAged Social Service System. With the help of the reform for Elder Rights ProtectionLaw, the state and society should strengthen institutional improvement and promotethe standardized management, as well as take measures to perfect the social servicesystem for the aged and gradually improve the conditions of ensuring their lives andhealth and their participation in social development in order to provide the aged withliving support, medical services, working conditions, educational opportunitiesand recreational facilities. The aim of the research work and suggestions is to settleheat for further development and improvement of Aged Social Service System policy.
