The Research Of Volunteer’s Incentive Mechanism In Large-scaled Events In Shanghai

With the rising of comprehensive strength of our nation, an increasingnumber of large international tournaments are held in China. Volunteers areplaying a big role in these tournaments. However, the organizing committees oflarge tournaments are provisional institutions, which are lacking of humanresource strategy planning for volunteers. This may lead to the ignorance ofsatisfaction of volunteers’ demands, stimulation of their motivation, fullexploration of their potential to reach the goal of the organization. Motivation,as the core of human resource management, the importance of which is not onlyrendering group members a relieved and positive work, but also making themaccept the goal and values of the organization, thus bringing in a strong sense ofbelonging. Therefore, it is of great necessity that we do a specific research onthe motivation of large tournament volunteers.From a more far-reaching significance, due to the highly concerned of whole society and the solid support of government for large tournament, viaexploration of incentives of volunteers and formation of theoretical system andpractices, we may play a demonstration effect among similar activities, as wellas laying a solid base for further promoting normalization of motivation strategyfor volunteers.This paper comprehensively describes the related theory of motivation forvolunteers, analyze deeply the current situation of motivation of largetournament volunteers of China and the underlying problems of motivation ofShanghai large tournament volunteers. On this basis, we put forward newmotivation of Shanghai large tournament volunteers via human resourcemanagement of NGO. It mainly includes rationalization and development oforganization, strategy of retaining members via career path, management ofemotion, and provision of rational material security.
