Research On Costume Information Of The Ladies’Journal

My research object is the costume information of the ladies’journal(1915-1931). Magazine periodical has lots of features such as timeliness, authenticity, so it has become an important channel for costume information research. as the oldest women’s magazine during the period of the republic. It is an important women periodical for the dress history of the women. In the existing research of the ladies’journal, the clothing information research is little,even less of system research dress information statistics.Through the clothing information research, I mainly serve two purposes:first, open another important window of the dress research in the early period of the republic. through ladies’ journal about clothing information types of classification, sorting, inquiry, analysis. Second, summarizes the different period of the ladies’ journal involves different garment accessories rheological trend. based on it’s mentioned in the main clothing product.In the process of research, the different research methods, including information arrangement and classification, comparative research, statistical analysis and information judgment method, etc.Through the17years,204issue of the content analysis, the information was classified to word, picture and combining pictures and text. Finally can see the clothing information in the ladies’journal has the close relation with its principle. The mission of the ladies’journal is develop female science, guide women to become understanding wife and loving mother, so the clothing information is also introduce to the readers in the life how to choose fabrics, tailored clothes to thrift. The journal is traditional, so its clothing information is also on the phenomenon of modern criticism, and the pursuit of fashionable female students phenomenon objection, etc. Through the research of the three mainstream dress-new civilization, QiPao vest and western-style clothing, The mainstream dress is still "civilized new clothes", especially in the1915-1920s, QiPao vest has appeared in the1920s or so, but only few people wear. QiPao also experienced the process of variable-length short dress vest until the foot, and then turn to be QiPao, but it is quite fat that time. Fewer information related to the western clothing, generally a few special identity to appear on special occasions, such as when the students performance will wear western dress, or celebrity wife in the photo,they will wear a Western-style coat.From the information can summary that while the complex social change in the Early Republic, the costumes information is also gradually changing; From the Western-style clothing information can conclude that the ladies’ journal played an important role in the issue of disseminating information to the Western-style clothing culture; Meanwhile, both from the spiritual level requirements woman self-liberation, or the appearance of the image, ladies’ journal has shaped a classic image of the1920s——"new woman".
