A Research Of Ethic Towns’ Population Evolution And Policy Improvement

After more than sixty years’ development, the Ethic Town policy has contributeda lot to the advancement of minority region, protecting the equal rights of the ethicgroups that are unevenly distributed and the unity of all ethic groups, andsafeguarding the social stability. However, with the economic advancement, thedistribution of ethic peoples has changed a lot and caused many problems to the localdevelopment. The external migration and structure change of local population havemade many ethic town policies out of date and unsuitable for the present development.Thus immediate change should be made, especially the population ratio policy whichhas great influence over the establishment and development of ethic towns.Based on the analysis of ethic towns’ population ratio policy and the populationdistribution evolvement, this thesis combines the practical development of ethic townin Jilin Province and demonstrates the new changes and problems of ethic towns’population distribution through data comparison and case illustration. It analyzes theimportance of changing the ethic towns’ population ratio policies and discusses somedetailed methods and directions of the reform.
